Catholic reflections, By Ryan Pinto

Topic :Pride

Dear brothers and sisters almost all of us are struggling with the sin of pride. Pride means putting out selves first in many things and we put God and other people below us and this is how we cultivate pride in our lives.

Pride is a trap set for by the devil, we have to be alert always because pride make us feel that we are the greatest, all knowing, over confidence and we are like rulers of the world but we don't understand that the world is under devils dominion and we are not meant for this world we meant for the glory of God.

Dear brothers and sisters we ask God’s help to conquer this world through love and righteousness. We also have to remember that we are living in world where there is sin everywhere. Pride is one of the seven capital sin we should be aware of because pride is a mortal sin.

We give honour to ourselves and we ignore God because of pride in us. We need to think about the destination of our soul after our death where it has to reach. If we ignore God when we live on this earth then surely there will be no place for us in heaven after we die.

If we fall trap to pride then instead of walking in the narrow path we will be walking in the wide path which will lead us to the fire of hell and will have to live with the king of pride that is devil forever.

If we obey God’s commandments and follow Him faithfully we will be blessed and will be called friends of God and not slaves. So dear brothers and sisters we need to keep ourselves last and we have to give glory and honour first to God and secondly for everyone around us equally and lovingly.

Love is the road to heaven which is our real home. So dear brothers and sisters we need to humble ourselves and think others better than us then only we will be able to push away pride out of our lives.

God always will be our only ruler; we must serve Him so that we pass our test and become worthy to enter heaven .Amen.
